Hi colleagues,
I'm looking for advice on optimal powder settings for subgingival biofilm removal using the Airflow Prophylaxis Master.
I've been using the standard settings but feel like I might be able to achieve better results. What powder type and pressure settings do you recommend for:
- Pocket depths of 4-6mm
- Pocket depths of 6-9mm
Also, any tips on technique for accessing posterior areas would be helpful.
Thanks in advance!

Great question! For subgingival treatment, I recommend:
**4-6mm pockets:**
- Powder: Air-Flow Plus (erythritol-based)
- Pressure: Low to medium (level 2-3)
- Water: High flow for better visibility
**6-9mm pockets:**
- Powder: Air-Flow Plus only
- Pressure: Low (level 1-2)
- Use the Perio-Flow nozzle for better access
For posterior areas, try approaching from the lingual side and use short, sweeping motions.
